• I would like to share my experience and gratefully thank exam creators.

It was really hard exam to pass. You should not only POSSESS knowledge from the official study book, you should APPLY this knowledge to the described situations. Be prepared to analyze, compare and calculate A LOT in limited amount of time. Take into account important facts and sort out unimportant ones in problem descriptions. Know not only design principles but some of their implications as well. No simple questions, no simple answers.

In the end, it was really exhaustive? but really enjoyable! Thank you for this certification, it is the real honor to be one of CWDPs!

simplewireless.ru - well done! Assuming you soaked up the CWDP Study Guide, can you please share how else you prepared for the CWDP exam? Experience, hands on, study groups?

    Thanks, and congratulations again!

Thank you for the kind words. We always strive to improve, but encouraging feedback along the way is most appreciated. Congratulations, and thanks again!

  • Congratulations simplewireless.ru.

I passed the exam last week also and found the test extremely hard and exhaustive also. I think it was the first test that I have taken where time was actually a factor. The questions/answers were long and required much thought, testing multiple concepts with each question. I would say the test seemed fairer than the CWSP where I thought that there were questions where you knew the material being asked about but 2 answers would be a coin toss as to which was more right.

For preparation I had read both the CWDP and CWAP book multiple times. I read the 802.11-2007 manual and multiple Cisco/Aruba design guides. I had also read/studied the old CWAP book multiple times. I purchased a Spectrum analyzer and learned how to interpret what it was showing you. I practiced taking wireless network captures and analyzing them.

Almost sounds like I am getting real close to taking the CWAP also!

  • Hey. Congratulations to the both of you.

I haven't taken the exam CWDP yet, but thought the questions in the practice exam were way too long and involved. Actually poor from a ergonomic point of view - too many choices, too much data on single screens, etc. It was intimidating.

I sure hope they get some more practice exams up soon, for both the CWDP and the CWAP.

Actually, I have a lot of experience in designing wireless networks. I am involved in wireless networks design for about 5 years. Nothing will substitute experience except really good book like "CWDP official study guide". The study guide really helped me a lot in summarizing my knowledge. If I had possibility to read this book 5 years ago, I could avoid many hard-learned mistakes in wireless network design.

  • By the way, reference to CWDP exam objectives at CWNP web-site is not accessible (error 404). Could you please fix it? People should know more about CWDP and exam objectives document is a good way to communicate your certified skills.

http://www.cwnp.com/exams/pw0250_objectives_v.02.pdf is accessible from the main CWDP product page here: http://www.cwnp.com/index/certifications/cwdp

Is there a different link that you were referring to?

  • Kevin,

The main CWDP product page refers to http://www.cwnp.com/exams/CWDP_PW0-250_2010_Exam_Objectives.pdf. And this file is inaccessible. You should correct the reference to http://www.cwnp.com/exams/pw0250_objectives_v.02.pdf

OK, yes, the third reference on the page to the exam objectives was not referring to the correct PDF, and that has been fixed. :-)
