I think one of the most important capability of a spectrum analyzer is the ability to not only detect RF energy in the air but also to classify the sources of the interference. The AirMagnet Spectrum Analyzer is the perfect tool for that. It classifies interfering sources such as Bluetooth, microwave ovens, wireless cameras, jammers, etc. and even helps the user physically locate it. Moreover, it also integrates with other AirMagnet applications like their Wi-Fi analyzer and Survey products, allowing users to understand the complete Wi-Fi interference picture to see how it impacts the WLAN performance and also conduct RF spectrum surveys (unique in the industry).

  • I see system requirements include

An 802.11 card or onboard 802.11 capability in order to monitor Wi-Fi devices.

But i try with many laptops, i doesn't detect card.

    what wrong with me?

The Fluke spectrum analyzer is the Cognio spectrum analyzer branded with the Fluke name. It requires a hardware component: PCMCIA spectrum analyzer card. Wi-Fi cards will not be sufficient.
