BTW, it' based on the 7920 phone, which doesn't rely too much on keepalive messages (multicast enabled, ouch).
Cisco also has some specific configuration and deployment scenario for Vocera or spectralink. your pointer is the most interesting as they try to give some wireless basic explanation first, but having a look at the others may be interesting too, just to compare features, limitations and subsequent design implications :
