  • Martell, great response. You're often not going to notice fundamental problems with a WLAN until it gets under load. First look to the physical layer whereby I mean interference, hidden node and near-far. Is NX reporting a lot of CRC and/or Tx/Rx retries? Are you seeing variance between phy rates when the 5th client comes online? ...remember, this is done at a frame-by-frame basis. Don't use the info reported by your OS/client util.

    Are all of your clients 802.11g? Can you verify this? Look at your beacons, too.

    Perhaps are you saturating the server, Internet / 802.3 side?
