Hi Guys,
I captured a 802.11g Beacon and down below is the info
Capability info:
------------------
Short preamble - 0
Short slottime - 9 Ms
Erp info:
---------
Barker preamble = 0
Non-ERP =0 .
I got confused with the trace .
As of i know 802.11g can use short slot time only when short preambles are used and no 802.11b clients are associated to it.
As per the capabilty information -Long Preamble is used
As per the ERP element - Barker mode set to 0
[Non Erp can use short preamble if
present]
My doubt is all about the short slot time.
How can a AP use Short slot time in this Scenario.
Please help me guys

Short preamble = 0
Non-Erp = Not present
Result : No Short preambles allowed [Understood]
Scenario 2
.................
Barker mode = 1
Short preamble = 1
Non-Erp = Not present
Result : No Short preambles allowed [Understood]
Scenario 3
.................
Barker mode = 0
Short preamble = 1
Non-Erp = Not present
Result : Short preambles allowed [Understood]
Scenario 4
.................
Barker mode = 0
Short preamble = 0
