Thanks for your advice - much appreciated. I do have access to WLAN equipment, and use survey and spec-an equip fairly regularly (Airmagnet/Cisco Spectrum Expert), so perhaps I'm more predisposed to the CWAP path...
I've also just downloaded the CWAP pdf from this site so will have a good read through that.

P.s. Kevin - just read your article on WLAN contollers fast becoming redundant hardware (love the pic of the dog wearing shoes, as you say - it's just wrong...) - thanks for the very interesting read, certainly an eye-opener to one used to the controller-centric world.
