I have a dell wireless AP and it has two security options WEP and WPA Pre- Shared Key. I set the security to WPA Pre - Shared Key. I can used my password fine, but I was wondering is there a wireless security standard which asks for authentication when you try to access the internet. Something like what an operating system does when you restart. I hope my question is not confusing.

Try to research about Captive Portal. I guess thatis the answer.
