WEP -mapping keys

    Can anybody tell me what is the use of Key-mapping keys in WEP.

    It is my understanding that it is where there are multiple available keys setup in the configuration.

    This MS link maybe of some help as well. There is a reference near the bottom to where in the 802.11-1999 standard information about key mapping keys can be found.

    Thanx for your answer , but can anybody explains how this mapping table is created ?

    Also,if on my client if I fill same key for all the indexes (0-3) and set wep key on index 0 of AP , what I have seen in captures that station is using all the keys one by one..

    why is station doing this ?
