WEP - ASCII vs HES key input

    Hi,

    This is for understanding, not because I want to use WEP.

    Is it correct that there is no simple mapping between entering the WEP key in ASCII or entering it in HEX to client or AP GUI?

    The HEX is directly the WEP key whereas the ASCII goes through some processing to create the WEP key, right?

    So If, hypothetically, the GUI would only let me enter the AP WEP key in ASCII and the client would only let the WEP key be entered in HEX (and I want them to work together) is this doable?
