Thank you, Criss. It's relieving to hear that you agree with me. During the night I have kept delving into TKIP and got myself another doubt. I tried to search the internet and a few books for an answer but I could not find one.
Michael ICV uses a 64 bit secret key as part of its computation. Is this secret key the same key ( the one used for data integrity ) which is derived from the PMK during EAPOL-key 4 way handshake. And if it is the same, why is Michael secret key 64 bits long whereas the other key is 128 bits. Which part of the second key is used as a 64 bit Michael key ?
