Hi Dave,
The above was coined from one of your replies to the topic "Wireless specialist relevancy".
I hv been ffg the thread and I commend you for your honest views. Sometimes I wish geography could bring us close to each other, but thank God for forums like this.
Now I suscribe to your opinion in the quoted statement above, but I had like to know how best to prepare for multiple vendor certifications as stated above. Do you prepare and take the exams one at a time? or do u read two or more of these vendors certs (paripasu) and take them almost at the same time?
I asked because I had like to have multiple vendors certifications too (necessary ones) so I had like to know how best to address such situation.
FYI: I am currently preparing for the CWNA (self-study with hands-on in a WISP) and should take it latest by February 2010.
How about having your personal email for more intimate discussions etc. -
Hi
At one time,I had books for three certifications all open at the same time. That did not work. I found that after a month, stuff that was crystal clear in my head was now fuzzy. What I now do is this:
I take a book [ say the CWNA ] and read over it once. I then start on another book [ say CWSP ]. At the same time, I open the CWNA book to the questions section of each chapter and read and try to answer the questions one chapter per day. I make a note of the areas I am weak in and review that, as well as the "summaries" at the end of each chapter.
On top of that, I have to read for my own profession [ satellite and microwave ] for subjects which are not certifiable, just to keep up to date.
In this way, I am "staggering" these study areas.
This is most comfortable for my own personal studying manner, but may not be suitable for everyone. I had a lot of time on my hands, so this was not a normal situation.
Of course I haven't actually sat any certification exams yet physically, so this may all collapse in a horrible heap !!
You can contact me via the forum PM system if you want.
Cheers
Dave
