No need to apologize for rambling I enjoyed the post it made things flow.

I follow you most of the way, gets foggy at the end. I understand where 1/4 wave comes from now. The whiteboard would definitely be of benefit here, you could probably clear the fog in 30 seconds with it.

I think my remaining fog comes from the different planes and the signal propagation to and fro the actual element. Wouldn't you want longer antenna to increase exposure? Guessing I need to find some RF graphics to clear this one.
