    Hi,

    I want to set-up a lab for myself(min. budget) to analyze the 802.11b/g traffic(all management, control and data frames).

    Can you give recommendations for the sniffer card and software. I can use any OS(Windows/*Unix)

    On the cheap, i would do wireshark via Backtrack for the sniffer. Card, cisco abg cb21. Get a AP and you are set ...

    What's Backtrack??

    If later I want to expand this set-up to analyze 11n frames then is it possible to capture association & other frames for HT-STA with an HT-AP?? I've read somewhere that it starts capturing packets only after association.
