Info on POE with VOIP

    Hello,

    Does anybody have any good technical information on how interoperable VOIP phones really are with switches with PoE? That is do voip phones reliably follow the 802.3af standard? Would a voip phone work over the same distance of cable as an AP or are there surprises? So far, I have only found some "white papers" that appear to have been written by salesmen. If I had some hardware a test setup and a voltmeter it would be possible to do some checks but is better to find these things out before you get the hardware.
