Given the limit of 20dBm max output power for 2.4ghz in Europe, which generally means that the AP you have must be used with the 2dBi antenna it's got when you buy it, how can one use an 8, 12 or 24dBi directional antenna for a wireless link without exceeding the limit?
(The AP has power settings of 100%, 50%, 25%)

Also, how does one calculate link budgets where there are also repeaters in the network?
