    Just as Mike advised, I also advise that you stay within the limits of standard Ethernet (which is 100meters OR 300 feet).

  • Well if your only aim is to power up the device using the CATX cable then it can go upto 300mtrs but if you want both power and data then the max length of the cable should not exceed 100mtr or 300feet (though it can work up to 330feet)as it is a limitation of Ethernet technology. Also make sure you are using a good quality cable if not then you may run 100 mtr but wont find the connectivity coz the low grade cables can not provide data above 40mtr length. So i believe you have you answer for further points do write... :)
