Encryption method vs Encryption algorithm

Hello all,
I was wondering if someone could clarify the following for me.
After looking at the free flashcard (http://www.c3-wireless.com/Flashcards.htm) that casey posted in another thread, I found this question confusing :
"What two types of encryption does WPA support ?"
My first guess would have been "RC4 and AES", however, the answer is TKIP and AES.
From what I read in the OReilly book and the sybex CWNA study guide, RC4 and AES are the algorithms used by TKIP and CCMP which are the encryption methods (or protocol)...
For this question, since it does not specify which it is looking for, I'd say any of those terms should be accepted (RC4, AES, TKIP); I think ccmp is only used in WPA2, so it should not apply for this question. But ideally the question should specify if it is looking for the encryption methods or the algorithms...
Does any of this makes sense ?
