  • I need some advice about which hardware to use for a WLAN that will have 30 AP's or so. I carried out site survey with Cisco 1200 802.11g AP's. But as far as I'm aware they each have to be managed separately. I want to be able to manage the AP's centrally, any advice?

Has anybody tried AMP? With which AP's?

I'll be using WPA or WPA v2.

    Thanks

Cisco Aironet AP1130s, AP1230s, and AP1240s can be centrally managed with an Airespace controller, if they have the most current .11g and/or .11a radios. AP1100s and AP1200s with the .11g radio currently cannot be centrally managed with an Airespace controller, but they will be able to soon.

  • You definately want to go with some type of wireless switch.

I've had good experience with the Symbol WS 5100, which can do up to 48 APs. Don't think it can be used with AMP though.

  • Trapeze claims to be able to manage Cisco 1200s.

    Here's a brief:

Check it out and let us know if it is a fit or not.
