About the WEP key index.

Hi all.
I have an AP which gives you a total of four WEP keys to use. You can also choose which one to use as the default transmission key.
From what I know, the AP will tell the client which key index it will use when it is about to transmit.
So does the client.
Here's my question.
If I choose Key #2 as the default transmission key and wanna make sure it really uses Key #2 instead of Key #3 or others, will I be able to get the answer using Airopeek? What kind of packet I should look into?
Many thanks. -
Yes, you can. Set the 802.11 encryption option to None under Capture option, capture the data and look for the packets which have the description "WEP data". It will show you the for un-decrypted data that have 4 fields : IV, Key Number, Payload and ICV.
