Passive Scanning/Probe Request Channel Order

    Does the supplicant decide whether a wifi card passively scans or sends probe requests?

    If so, what decides the order of channel scanning? I recently read that WZC begins on Channel 36 and continues on through 5.0 Ghz and then begins 2.4 Ghz scans if no APs are found.

    Also, if the method is passive scanning, how would you find out what channel is being scanned and in what order the scanning is occuring?
