Guys,
I would like to know whether BER differ from vendor to vendor .Are there any vendors who gives info abt BER in their data sheet.
Thanks,

Some vendors do address the Bit Error Rate (BER) some don't.
Here are some that I googled that mention it. The first URL you have to scroll through but they mention it under recieve sensitivity.

Overall most vendors state a BER better than 10-5 , on the PCMIA card or access point.
Most times in WLANs transmission and reception you will deal with frame/packet losses. You will see something about adjusting the Fragmentation Threshold with a value between 256 to 2346 bytes.
If set too small your mediuim will become too busy with small frames and acknowledgements, and data throughput reduced because of the additional overhead
If too large it (data) may have to be retransmitted often reducing throughput.
See page 352 in the CWAP book if you have it.
The 802.11e (QoS)in WLANs will deal with this extensively, I think.
See a brief mention of this in the CWAP book on page 208.
