  • Nothing in particular really. There are many forms of DoS attacks - both at layer 1 and layer 2. Layer 1 DoS attacks take the form of RF attacks such as narrowband RF (used for hijacking) and wideband RF (used for disabling WLANs). Layer 2 DoS attacks are MAC protocol related, such as deauthentication attacks, NAV attacks, EAP-Start flooding, etc. APs nor WIPS can prevent such attacks, but can identify and alarm when these attacks are seen. If APs have integrated WIDS, then they may be able to report such attacks to a central console as though they were a sensor.
