802.11n STA band selection order (if any)

    Howdy all,

    does anyone know if the draft specifies (or recommends) if a STA should choose 5Ghz initially instead of 2.4Ghz (or vice-versa) ?

    and, if so, if any client vendor is implementing such a mechanism?

    I see that it depends on the Chipset manufacturer what band it chooses.

    so, we know for sure it's not described on the spec?

    Not in the spec. It probably falls into the same category as roaming, where each device driver will decide where it goes next.
