Speaking of looks being important - I've seen deployments where the color of the antenna housing was more important than gain or coverage. Multiple access points were needed where a stronger antenna would have done the job just because they antenna had to blend in. Painting the antenna housing was suggested, but wasn't the preferred option.

Gotta love it.
