I've recently begun talking with Newbury regarding their location technology. I have not yet seen a practical demonstration, but I think it looks promising and they don't require the same density and corner placement of access points like Cisco. So, you may be able to deploy a wireless network as you would to support voice and still get your desired location resolution and accuracy. What are your location requirements?
Newbury's technology doesn't integrate with Cisco controller networks at present. Meru and Trapeze are all good though. I'm not sure who else. I'm doing some research into the various RTLS solutions out there so if I come across anything else interesting, I'll post it.
Cheers,
David
