4x4 MIMO = 4 spatial streams?

    As Dave pointed out, MIMO system uses spatial multiplexing to transmit multiple streams on the [b]same[/b] frequency.

    802.11n-2009 standard requires support for at least 2 streams by AP and at least 1 stream by client. AP and client are optionally capable of transmitting and receiving 3 streams, but this is not mandatory.

    Seems that a 802.11n 4?4:4 MIMO system supporting 4 streams is beyond the scope of standard.
