    Your right on sirkozz, PtP and PtMP will work. One advantage of the WDS is that it may be able to bridge to another access point and still provide connectivity to clients maybe even on both ends of the bridge.  if you are using a dual radio on the ship, you may be able to provide wireless connectivity close to the AP or even deploy some sort of DAS on the ship.
