Other than the loss due to obstacles as Gerard mentioned, A is actually as good as or better than G. Unless you are on a nice farm in Kansas, the 2.4 spectrum is probably saturated where you're deploying, and the 5.8 spectrum A uses would be much better for performance. I guess the other "problem" with A is there are far fewer A cards on the market. They both have their places...
