I agree with your point on the difficulty in being able to have a true greenfield environment. My question was more directed towards a claim that the optional greenfield modes are not implemented in a product by any vendor yet. So in the near future there is no reason to worry about 802.11n products can crawl under the abg radar.

I'm particularly interested in this topic becausse i need to assess if it is a real threat for a large enterprise.

My thought was that if the greenfield mode were available with current products on the market you can easily configure an off-the-shelf AP to be a perfect rogue that will only be seen as RF interferense (noise)- if you are targeting a site without any 802.11n equipment.
