Hi;
I have Cisco 1141 AP. I want to test throughput of it with various cards. I have just ordered Linksys WUSB600N for it. Can you recommend me a software which I can test my Wireless N throughput? I know airmagnet is doing this but my linksys does not supported device for it. I just downloaed IxChariot but I did not recieve my evulation key yet. Waiting for it too.
I have also WUSB300N which supports 144 mbps. -

You should use the very free iperf to do your testing:

I am looking for Windows tool. Would like to test without client. Only Client with N card and AP. Don't have a 1000 switch now.

It does run on Windows, on the commandline; just use the Windows Download of iperf: http://www.noc.ucf.edu/Tools/Iperf/ You do not need to have a 1000 switch. You only need two endpoints to do the testing, running iperf on each. -

Thanks for your replies. If I use 100 mbps ports on sw with the devices it will not be a good result because on 300 MBPS N connection the throughput will be more then 100 mbps.
To be clear:
I have 1 wireless N card so the other client must connect with SW and AP also needs to be connect to SW too which has 1 gig. ports.
I am trying to test N throughput with 1 N client connected to Cisco 1141. I know airmagnet does this but it does not support my card. -
I use NetPerSec. Works on Windows, simple graphical and easy.

iperf.exe is another easy command line tool you can use; it's stand alone. Just put in on a laptop on either side of the AP you want to test (wired and wireless sides), run it on the wired side as a server and on the wireless side as a client.

Here is a good comparison Qcheck vs. Ping and IxChariot

Jperf - which is the java version of iperf. Some controllers have iperf servers built in just for this sort of testing.
With Cisco's watch out they don't turn on RTS in the middle of stream. Cisco's are known for that. If you check the WiFi Alliance Cert plans, you will also notice Cisco is always has the lowest thorughput requirement....Makes you think on WHY huh?
