Hi,

Given a Mac Address of an AP. How do we find a Basic BSSID for that Mac Address ?

Many AP's support multiple BSSID. Each BSSID act as a virtual AP.Each Radio has a Basic mac address and it is incremented to generate other Mac address for supporting multiple BSSID.Hence we can call them virtual BSSID.

Now We have to find the Basic Mac address given any virtual BSSID.
Can anybody help me to solve this problem ?

Sol: Mask the last byte of the MAC Address as told by our product team.

Is it universally done like this. How are Mac address distributed among vendors ? Can anybody show me a good site regarding these problems.
