I am guessing that you want to know what affects the throughput of the wireless side. Here are some off the top of my head.
- RF interference (Cordless phones, Bluetooth, microwave ovens etc.)
- Other WLAN devices (other Wi-Fi Devices on same or adjacent channels)
- Protection mode (11g AP's only)
- Fragmentation (usually off by default)
- RTS/CTS (usually off by default)
- Power Save Mode (especially legacy)
- Distance from AP - Data Rate
More detail:
- Beacon frame interval
- SSID length (ok, this is kind of a joke ;) )
- Encryption type (This shouldn't be considered as security comes first)
I can think of more if you like. :)
