Unless you have a really good reason for not doing it, you are probably much better off running wiring (I know... sacrilege) between floors. 50 story buildings are going to have conduit running between floors for this.

Building-to-building connectivity can be very expensive to run fiber or connect with a T1, VPN, etc., however within a building should be relatively inexpensive.
