CWNE Status Levels

CWNE® - Certified Wireless Network Expert Status Levels

Active Status

To maintain Active status, you will be required to submit continuing education CE credits and pay a fee.

     Active Status Benefits

  • Personalized CWNE Number
  • Permission to use the CWNE logo, subject to CWNP requirements and in situations where the logo is not applicable
  • Part of an active community of Wireless LAN professionals recognized for technical proficiency 

     

Emeritus Status

To maintain Emeritus status, you must first maintain Active status for a minimum of six years. During Emeritus status, you must remain active related to Wi-Fi technology. Should you desire to re-enter Active status at a later time, you must document and submit three years of continuing education credits (which would be accepted for normal CWNE renewal) from the most recent three years, provide an updated resume/CV documenting continued work in/with Wi-Fi and/or Wi-Fi-related technology, and pay the CWNE renewal fee.

     Emeritus Status Benefits

  • Retain Personalized CWNE Number
  • Emeritus follows your CWNE Number in listing and use
  • Permission to use the CWNE Emeritus logo, subject to CWNP requirements and in situations where the logo is not applicable
  • Part of an active community of Wireless LAN  professionals recognized for technical proficiency and long-term status within the program

NOTE: To request Emeritus status, email support@cwnp.com and provide your name and CWNE number with a request to enter Emeritus status before or on your CWNE expiration date. To pay the Emeritus status fee, contact Melissa Rowland at melissa@cwnp.com.

   

Inactive Status 

Those who choose to maintain neither Active or Emeritus status, after three years of Active status, will be placed into Inactive status. If you have been Inactive for less than three years, you have the opportunity to re-enter Active or Emeritus status by submitting three years of continuing education credits. After three years, you will need to submit a formal application to the CWNE board and repeat the normal CWNE application process including the acquisition of current (non-expired) CWNA, CWSP, CWAP, and CWDP certifications.

     Inactive Status Drawbacks

  • You are allowed to list your CWNE number on your resume and social profiles ONLY. 
  • You are NOT permitted to use the CWNE logo. Permission to use the CWNE logo, subject to CWNP requirements and in situations where the logo is not applicable
  • You will not be granted permission to use CWNE in any corporate promotional material
