Logo Guidelines

Candidates who successfully complete the CWNP certification requirements and enter into the CWNP Logo Agreement, of which these guidelines are an integral part, may use the CWNP Logos (the "Logos") as a graphic symbol to let clients know they have demonstrated the expertise required to plan, implement, and support solutions with, and/or to train computer professionals on wireless networking products. The following guidelines explain how the CWNP Logos are to be used. Please follow these guidelines in order to correctly promote your status as a CWNP and protect the integrity of the Logos.

Logo components and artwork

There is one basic design for the CWNP Logo. In addition, there are Logos for specific CWNP Designations that identify levels of certification: Technology, Administrator, Security, Analysis, Design, Expert, and Trainer. No other designations, descriptions, or product specializations are to be placed beneath the CWNP Logo. For information on modifying the Logo to accommodate multiple certifications, see the "Multiple Certifications" section.

Using the Logos

You must enter into the CWNP Logo Agreement (the "Agreement") before using the Logos. If you have entered the Agreement, the Logos may be used as a symbol to signify that you are a CWNA, CWSP, CWNE, or CWNT, as applicable, and for no other purpose. The use of applicable designations separate from the CWNP logos is not authorized herein and constitutes a violation of the CWNP Program and Logo Agreement.

The Logo may be used only to indicate that you have met the criteria to be a CWNP. If you do not maintain your certification, or your CWNP Program and Logo Agreement is expired or terminated, you must immediately discontinue use of the Logos.

  • You may not alter the Logo artwork in any way. The Logos may not be translated or otherwise localized into any other language. CWNP, Inc. must provide any localized versions of the Logos.
  • You may not display the Logos in any manner that suggests you are an employee of CWNP, Inc. or in a manner that suggests "CWNP" is a part of your company name. Your use of the Logos must clearly indicate that you are independent from CWNP LLC
  • You may not use the Logos in any manner that is derogatory to or critical of the CWNP or any CWNP LLC. product.
  • Your name, trade name or company name must appear on any materials where the Logos are used. The Logo cannot appear larger or more prominent than your product or service name, trademark or service mark, logo, or trade or company name.
  • The Logos may not be used in any manner that expresses or might imply The CWNP affiliation, sponsorship, endorsement, certification, or approval, other than as set forth by the CWNP Logo Agreement.
  • The Logos, or any elements thereof, may not be included in your trade or business name, domain name, product or service name, logo, trade dress, design, slogan, or other trademarks.
  • You may not combine the Logo with any other object, including, but not limited to, other logos, icons, words, graphics, photos, slogans, numbers, design features, symbols, or Web site audio files.
  • The Logo may not be used as a design feature on any of your materials.
  • The Logo may not be imitated in any manner in your materials.
  • The Logos shall be attributed to The CWNP Program in all materials where they are used, with the following attribution clause: "CWNP is a certification mark of CWNP LLC  in the United States and other countries."
  • You may not use the Logos in any way other than as specified in these guidelines.

Failure to comply with these instructions shall constitute a breach of the CWNP Program and Logo Agreement.

Spacing The Logos must stand alone. A minimum amount of space must be left between the Logos and any other object such as type, other logos, borders, edges, and so on. The required border or empty space around the Logos must be x wide, where x equals the height of the graphic, as represented by the height of the box that contains the words "Certified Wireless Network Professional".

Minimum Size You should take care to maintain the integrity of all elements of the Logos. For example, the logotype and trademark notations must be readable; in no case should the Logo appear at such a small size that these conditions are not met. The minimum acceptable size for the Logo is 1 inch (2.54cm) in length.

Typography The CWNP logos and its designations were created using the Decker Normal font family. It is strongly recommended that, when incorporating the Logos into your materials, you use the artwork provided.

Color Palette The CWNP logos can appear in two colors or in black and white. Acceptable uses of these variations are discussed in the following section. When placing the Logos on your marketing materials, use the color scheme most appropriate to your audience and budget.

Two-Color Reproduce the two-color Logos by using the electronic logo artwork provided on the CWNP secured Web site and following the two-color guidelines below. The two-color Logos should appear on a white background. It is acceptable, but not preferred, to reproduce the Logos on an appropriate light-colored or dark-colored background, where the Logo stands out from the background as it does on a white background.

One-color (black and white) The one-color (black and white) Logo should appear on a white background. It is acceptable, but not preferred, to reproduce the Logo on an appropriate light-colored or dark-colored background, where the Logo stands out from the background as it does on a white background. In most cases, it is preferable to use the screened version of the Logo, but in cases when the printing process affects the legibility of the Logo (as in newsprint), the line art (or non-screened version) should be used. If you have any doubts, your printer can help you decide which art will reproduce better.

Multiple Certifications

CWNPs who are certified in more than one area may want to use more than one CWNP logo to show a combination of credentials. The rules for multiple certification logos follow.

You may display either the highest level of CWNP certification that you have achieved, or the generic CWNP logo, along with the CWNT logo. You may not display the CWNP logo along with the CWNA, CWSP, or CWNE logos.

Use of Acronyms It is acceptable to use the acronyms CWNP, CWNA, CWSP, or CWNE in connection with your name on business cards, electronic mail auto-signatures and letters as long as you also feature the basic CWNP Logo. For example: John Doe, CWNA, CWNT.
