CWNP exams are vendor-neutral and therefore do not include questions relating only to a specific vendor's hardware or software. The CWNP certification program tests vendor-neutral wireless and IoT technology, rather than specific functions of vendor products. Passing the CWNP exams enables you to learn and understand any vendor's product line.
What does CWNP Stand For?
The acronym "CWNP" was adopted to represent a family of professional certifications and associated curriculum, and stands for Certified Wireless Network Professional.
What if I have specific questions about a practice test or material in a study guide?
Please post your questions to the appropriate forum. This will allow the greatest exposure to the questions for all to see and will give you the best answers to your questions. The practice test, exam authors, and study guide authors routinely participate in these forums and offer feedback.
I am preparing to take an exam, where can I find details about content and skills I will be tested on?
Details about specific exams are available on each Certification page. These pages offer information about each exam such as number of questions, time allotted, scoring percentages, skills measured, preparation tools, resources, and a free downloadable PDF copy of the exam objectives.
Where can I get training and study materials for CWNP exams. How do I register for an Official CWNP Training Class?
For CWNP Self Study Materials, visit the CWNP Store. To search for a CWNP instructor-led training, please visit Find Onsite Class or Find Online Class. The Authorized Learning Centers will provide training materials for the class.
How do I know whether my training provider is Authorized CWNP Learning Center?
Authorized CWNP Learning Centers are the only training centers that can post their classes on our site, so if you found your training class on cwnp.com, then you are attending an authorized class. When you attend training you will receive the official course guide for the Certification and a class coupon code, which can be redeemed directly through your CWNP account to receive the practice test and one exam voucher.
How do I know whether my trainer is an authorized CWNT?
You can verify if your Instructor is a CWNT by entering their CWNP ID here. CWNT's must attend an official training class and pass the associated exam with a minimum of 80% before applying to become a CWNT.
Where do I get practice tests for CWNP exams?
CWNP Practice Tests are available in the CWNP Store. These products allow students and instructors to instantly evaluate their current level of wireless LAN and IoT expertise.
How long are practice tests valid?
Practice Tests do not expire and can be taken an unlimited amount of times.
How much do CWNP Exams Cost?
The pricing for each exam voucher is different for the varying levels of Certifications. You can visit the CWNP Store for pricing and to purchase an exam voucher.
Do I have to take the exams in any order?
There is one prerequisite for each track and those requirements are:
1. The CWNA certification has to be completed first before taking the CWAP, CWDP, or CWSP exams. The three professional certifications can be taken in any order you choose once the CWNA has been completed.
2. The CWISA certification has to be completed first before taking the CWICP, CWIDP, or CWIIP exams. The three professional certifications can be taken in any order you choose once the CWISA has been completed.
If you complete any of the professional certifications before completing the prerequisite certifications for a specific track, NO certificates will be issued until the prerequisite certification has been completed.
Where do I take the Exams?
The CWSS and CWTS exams are taken through your CWNP account. There is no appointment needed since these two exams can be taken at any time.
All other Wi-Fi track and IoT track certification exams are available for in-person or online proctoring through any Prometric testing center worldwide. These exams must be scheduled with Prometric and your exam voucher will be redeemed directly with them.
Do I have to take the Class?
Classes are highly recommended for hands-on experience, but you are not required to attend a class. Many people choose to self-study for CWNP exams. Reading the CWNP study and reference guides, reviewing the CWNP eLearning modules, and taking the CWNP Practice Tests will help prepare you for the exams. We also highly recommend getting hands-on experience and studying the many white papers available through the Free Resources page.
How do I register for an exam and find testing centers in my area?
Visit Prometric to create an account and schedule your exam, search for local Testing Centers, and contact their Customer Service directly.
What is the exam retake policy?
For the CWSS and CWTS exams, there is a 24 hour waiting period to retake the exam.
For all other certification exams offered through Prometric, there is a 10 day waiting period to retake an exam. Saturdays and Sundays are included as part of the 10 day waiting period.
