Hi,

When the access-point(or client) are about to send data, it calculates the number of slot times needed for the data and put this value in the duration field. How does the access-point(or client) know in advance at what MCS rate it will be able to send the data at?

Because if i have understood this correctly the number of slot times needed for transmission are a function of the speed at which data can be transmitted at?
