Hello Ranga,

Yes, you are right that you need to have some kind of hardware to understand the concept. As you have mentioned that you do not have any wireless experience, so that for this reason my opinion will be that you must buy one AP for client you might have notebook and you can use the inbuilt wireless client as most of the notebooks are having one with it. For radius server as mentioned above you can use free radius server application. I will also suggest to have two note book so you can configure the ad-hoc mode or some time other notebook can be the sniffer.
