  • The Wi-Fi part should work - according to an "ipod" friend of mine.

    Check your phones settings.

If you can "see" any networks (SSID's) you should be able to connect to some of them.

Maybe this is worth a try!
Check your country/regional settings both on the ipod and the AP. They should match.

If the AP is using 802.1d country settings and that is turned on your Ipod should support it and it should be set automatically (preferred so you do not have to think about it hen wtravelling) ) or you need yo set the country (region) to the same value in your ipod if possible.

If they country settings does not match there may be a chance that you are not allowed in.
If this is a market decision from Apple or an IEEE regulation I can not tell.

In the case of Cisco for example. They have different firmware on the US and ETSI regional versions of the APs and the US versions will not show channel 12 and 13. The older US versions allows you to select the a-channel manually and the ETSI don't since they version is using DFS. Makes life alot more difficult to decide which channels your AP should be on.

You may have to check the channels supported (your AP maybe on 12,13) and if Apple have different versions of the OS for the different regions. An indication would be that they have different part numbers, but that can also refer to packaging.
