Are you troubleshooting the guest network or an independent network other than the guest?

17 AP's on channel one isn't an issue. What becomes more important is if, standing in one place, you can see multiple AP's on the same channel.

It has become very typical today to over deploy AP's. Too many AP's can be almost worse than not enough. Not enough is easy to troubleshoot; too many becomes more difficult.
