AES does have additional overhead. Depending on the applications you could see some delay. Lets assume you are using VoIP over wireless you may see longer auth times, etc but we are talking ms. If its designed correctly you shouldnt have any issues.

I do recall have issues with AESm when implementing mix vendors products in the "early" days of AES.
