To the points above I had the same problem and after working with some SE's from my handheld vendor they determined they had a roaming profile issue in their radio driver. They got me a patch and I was good to go.

I saw the same symptoms where the handheld would connect then go to roam and then bounce from AP to AP and never connect back.
