Hi:

I have a Cisco VPN Concentrator 300 and a Cisco ACS server.

I have been trying to use MS-CHAP-v2 with encryption to no avail with XP and Vista clients.

I'm trying to do a wireless VPN using MS-CHAP-v2 with PPTP and encryption, but it won't work. The tunnel gets torn down immediately after it is established.

The funny part is that on XP clients that support MS-CHAP-V1, encryption *does* work. It is only when I switch to MS-CHAP-v2 and require encryption that the VPN tunnel cannot be established with both XP and Vista. If I don't require encryption with MS-CHAP-V2, the tunnel works with both XP and Vista.

It appears that MS-CHAP-V1 is deprecated (not supported) on Vista.

Any ideas of what is going on here?

This won't fix your problem but it will get you working.

Success Stories
